URL Decode and Encode Online: Bulk URL Decoder

Free online URL decoder and encoder. Decode or encode percent-encoded URLs in bulk, one per line, then copy the results. Runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

What is URL decoding?

URL decoding turns percent-encoded characters back into readable text. Browsers and servers encode characters that are not allowed in a URL as a percent sign followed by two hexadecimal digits, so a space becomes %20, a slash becomes %2F and the Chinese word 中文 becomes %E4%B8%AD%E6%96%87. Decoding reverses this. URL encoding is the opposite step: it converts special characters into percent sequences so the URL is safe to send.

Example: https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dhello%20world decodes to https://example.com/search?q=hello world

Features of the URL Decoder

Key capabilities of the tool

Bulk decode and encode

Paste many URLs, one per line, and convert them all at once.

Safe with broken input

Invalid percent sequences are kept as they are and flagged, instead of failing the whole list.

Full Unicode support

Decodes multi-byte UTF-8 such as Chinese, Arabic, Hindi and emoji correctly.

Two encoding modes

Encode a full URL and keep its structure, or encode every reserved character for query values.

Private by design

Everything runs in your browser. Your URLs are never uploaded to a server.

One click copy

Copy all results to the clipboard, or swap them back into the input.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

URL decoding converts percent-encoded sequences like %20 or %3A back into the characters they stand for, such as a space or a colon. It makes encoded links, query strings and tracking parameters readable again.

  1. Choose Decode.
  2. Paste one or more encoded URLs, one per line.
  3. The decoded result appears instantly below.
  4. Click Copy to copy every line.

URL encoding replaces characters that are unsafe in a URL with a percent sign and two hex digits, for example a space becomes %20. URL decoding does the reverse and turns those sequences back into normal text.

A sequence like %ZZ, a lone % sign, or a broken UTF-8 byte such as %E4 on its own cannot be decoded. The tool leaves those parts unchanged, decodes everything else on the line, and shows how many lines had problems.

Turn it on when you are encoding a single value that goes inside a URL, such as a query parameter, so characters like / ? & = are encoded too. Turn it off to encode a complete URL while keeping its slashes, question mark and ampersands intact.

HTML forms encode spaces as + in query strings. Turn on "Treat + as space" when decoding form data or search URLs so a+b becomes a b. Leave it off for paths, where + is a literal plus sign.

No. Encoding and decoding run entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored.
